Overview:
Performs all drilling activity in accordance with job specifications to achieve anticipated production within specific timeline. This position supports the direction of Management and Blaster in Charge and reports drilling results and status to both for input and direction.
Responsibilities:
- Securing a safe drill area – identifies drill site & terrain problems and resolves with management, if necessary
- Understands and follows all company/industry safety policies and practices
- Performs daily maintenance activities of assigned equipment to ensure safe efficient operation and maximize drill supply usage
- Inventory accessories, understand cost & maintenance of accessories
- Places supply, accessory, part requests per company procedures
- Understands different drill patterns and executes drill layouts as established by Management and/or Blaster in Charge.
- Monitors the relationship between drill pattern and type of digging and reports results to management
- Accurately complete all required reporting paperwork; including drill reports, hole sheets, and signed timecards.
- Attends all company meetings & safety trainings as required
- Must be flexible to customer demands including scheduling and working around weather changes
- Ability to work unsupervised while maintaining safe work practices and project timeline
- All other duties as assigned
- Proficient in all areas of drill operations, with a variety of drills and their operations & maintenance
- Mechanically inclined a plus
- Experience in construction industry / construction laborer a plus
- Must have good communications skills
- Must hold a valid driver’s license with own reliable transportation
- Out of town/state travel
- Possessing construction Industry basic training certificates a plus (OSHA10, MSHA, etc,)
- Hoisting Engineers – Drill Rig License in states where applicable is a plus
- Ability to lift 50lbs., 30-40% of the time
- Work on uneven and loose surfaces in varying weather conditions
- Ability to bend 30-40% of the time

Overview:
Performs blasting activity in accordance with job specifications to achieve anticipated production within specific timeline. This position supports the direction of Project Manager and General Manager and reports blasting results and status to both for input and direction.
Responsibilities:
- Blast-hole loading design and initiation
- Works as jobsite blaster, blaster in charge, and manages job site team
- Securing a safe blast area – identifies blast site problems and resolves with management, if necessary
- Verifies that pre-blast inspections have been conducted prior to blasting
- Performs all necessary pre-blast tests and seismograph setup as needed
- Understands and follows all company/industry safety policies and practices
- Places supply and material requests per company procedures
- Monitors the relationship between blast pattern and type of digging and reports results to management
- Documents use of explosives and accurately complete all required inventory tracking paperwork; including field blast reports, required trip manifest forms as needed and magazine inventory paperwork.
- Expected to transport explosives across state lines, as needed per job
- Attends all company meetings & safety trainings as required
- Must be flexible to customer demands including scheduling and working around weather changes
- All other duties as assigned
- High School Degree
- Possess valid Blasting Certificates (minimum 1 state, but multiple state certificates a plus)
- Must have good communications skills
- Must hold a valid CDL with hazmat endorsement (able to transport across state lines) and a good driving record
- Out of town/state travel
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check with Federal & State agencies (ATF / DOT)
- Knowledge and experience (at least 6 months) of blasting techniques: blast design, loading holes, grade & elevation readings, securing blast site, identifying explosives
- Proficient in all areas of drill operations, with a variety of drills and their operations & maintenance
- Experience with various Seismic Monitors and their operations & maintenance
- Ability to lift 50lbs., 30-40% of the time
- Work on uneven and loose surfaces in varying weather conditions
- Ability to bend 30-40% of the time
