Drilling & Blasting Scope of Work:
Contracted to perform all drilling and blasting work for new technical high school located in Lexington, MA. Blasting was required to accommodate installation of new concrete structures, roadway, grading, landscape, and utilities including interior plumbing. Total project included blasting approximately 34,000 cubic yards of open rock, 6,500 cubic yards of trench rock, and performing preblast surveys.
Challenges:
Project situated within residential neighborhood with close by neighbors. Overburden removal which was necessary to create 3D rock profiles created rough job-site terrain. Blasting had to be completed prior to pouring concrete which resulted in an expedited project schedule.
Schedule: Entire blasting scope completed on schedule.
