PROJECT DESCRIPTION::
The project consists of the rebuilding of Canaan Parish. The project is broken up into two phases. Phase one of the project is to build a 60-unit affordable housing complex. Phase two is to build a 40-unit affordable housing complex. There will be two five-story buildings.
SCOPE OF WORK:
Baystate Blasting, Inc. (BBI) was contracted to perform drilling and blasting services to remove bedrock up to approximately 20 feet deep for the building foundations. Due to the proximity of existing occupied buildings BBI was forced to use controlled blasting methods such as utilizing blasting mats for all the blasts and keeping the PPV to a level of 2.0 inches/second or lower.
